Visit of IDRC Delegates to OSSREA Strengthens Collaboration and Project Engagement
In a bid to foster collaboration and deepen engagement, the Vice President for Strategy, Regions, and Policy at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Julie Shouldice, along with the Senior Programs Specialist, Martha Mutusi, recently paid a visit to the headquarters of the Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA).During the visit, the esteemed delegates embarked on a comprehensive tour of the various offices and project sites within OSSREA premises. This provided them with firsthand insight into the organization's operational framework and the diverse array of projects being undertaken.
Key discussions ensued, with OSSREA representatives Dr. Truphena, Mr. Alemu, and Mr. Belete elaborating on the organization's mission, vision, and ongoing initiatives supported by IDRC. Among the focal points of discussion were the significant projects addressing critical issues such as Forced Displacement and Knowledge Decolonization.Furthermore, the meeting provided an opportune platform to deliberate on various projects, programs, and funding modalities. Both parties engaged in constructive dialogues aimed at identifying synergies and exploring avenues for enhanced collaboration in the future.
