OSSREA Liaison Officers’ Meeting
The OSSREA Liaison Officers meeting was held from 21 – 22 April 2005 to discuss, among others, reports of the Liaison Officers and their plans for the year 2005. The meeting took place at Queen of Sheba Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Liaison Officers presented their individual reports in the meeting, highlighting the activities carried out and the constraints faced in 2004. The major purpose of the annual meeting was to enable effective planning and to conduct an internal evaluation of performances of the Organization at the Chapter level. It was also anticipated that the meeting would focus on the challenges OSSREA had faced at the Chapter level over the year 2004 and come up with possible means of tackling the problems.
In the meeting, Dr. Alfred G. Nhema, Executive Secretary made it clear to the participants that in the present year, funds that were traditionally allocated to organizing national workshops would be redirected towards publishing proceedings of the previous national workshops. The rationale behind this shift is that research should be disseminated to the end users.
