The OSSREA Lesotho Chapter Holds Its Annual National Workshop
The Lesotho OSSREA Chapter held its annual National Workshop 25th - 26th November 2003 at Melesi Lodge, Maseru. The theme of the workshop was: Poverty and Development in Lesotho. Dr. F. Moloi, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor of the National University of Lesotho, officially opened the workshop. Thirty five participants, drawn mainly from the National University of Lesotho, attended the workshop. Other participants came from UNDP, Bureau of Statistics and the DED Lesotho. OSSREA publications were displayed during the days of the workshop. A total of 12 papers were presented. Some issues were raised following this workshop:
It was suggested that some papers be selected for consideration of publication in a scientific journal as a special edition on: Poverty and Development in Lesotho.
Noting the importance of the workshop, it was also suggested that there should be monthly paper presentations organised by the Lesotho OSSREA Chapter on research activities conducted by its members.

‘Mine Workers’ Plight and Imminent Poverty at Household Level in Lesotho: What Coping Strategies exist,’ by Thope Matobo.
