7th Congress Elects the New Executive Committee of OSSREA
During its business meeting held on 19th December 2002, in Khartoum, Sudan, the 7th Congress of OSSREA elected the following scholars as members of the new Executive Committee of OSSREA.
Dr. Regina G. M. Karega (Kenya) - President
Prof. Linda E. R. de Vries (S. Africa) - Vice-President
Dr. Sunita C. S. Pitamber (Sudan) - Vice-President
Prof. Bahru Zewde (Ethiopia) - Resident Vice-President
Prof. Ackson M. Kanduza (Swaziland) - Member
Mr. John M. Were (Uganda) - Member
Prof. Rosalia S. Katapa (Tanzania) - Member
It is to be recalled that among the above officers, Dr. Sunita C. S. Pitamber, Prof. Bahru Zewde, Prof. Ackson M. Kanduza, and Mr. John M. Were had also served on the outgoing Executive Committee for one term. The members of the previous Committee who had served for two terms (six years) and completed their tenure were Dr. Evelyn Sandra Pangeti (President) and Prof. Abel Ishumi (Vice-President). During the business session, the presidency of OSSREA was formally handed over to the new President, Dr. Regina G. M. Karega, who is the Director of the Bureau of Educational Research in Kenyatta University, Kenya.
