Meeting of OSSREA Executive Committee
The OSSREA Executive Committee held its first regular meeting of the year from 4-5 April 2002 at the OSSREA headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Committee heard the Executive Secretary’s report on the activities undertaken since the last meeting of the Committee, in particular OSSREA research competitions, publications, research projects and programmes, networking and meetings with donors, administration and finance. The Committee discussed these and a range of other forthcoming events and activities, including the 7th OSSREA Congress, arrangements for the transition to a new leadership, new project proposals, and juries for the 16th Social Science and 14th Gender Issues Research Competitions. The Committee selected members of the juries for the annual competitions and members of the search committee for the post of Executive Secretary. The Committee also gave guidelines and directives for other forthcoming events and activities, and scheduled its next meeting for 2-4 October 2002.
