Relationship between Government and Private Enterprise in the Forestry and Timber Industry: The Case of Zimbabwe 1923-75

Abstract: The paper attempts to analyse the character of interaction that existed between the state and private enterprises in Zimbabwe’s forestry and timber industry over the period 1922-75. In conclusion, the paper states that there appears some strong evidence that the real base of contention between the State Forestry Commission and private enterprises regarding the utilization of timber because real profits in the industry are derived from utilization.
