Gender-Responsive Social Science Research an African Perspective
Hilda Tadria
Abstract: The paper discusses gender-responsive social research from an African perspective. The main point of the paper is that traditional research has teded to ignore the fact that gender is a critical variable in social life. Thus, because social research has tended to be biased, its research findings have not reflected the empirical realities of gender. The author concludes by stating that researchers must change their conceptual, ideological, ethical, and practical research orientations to move toward gender-responsive research.
