A
research programme formulated to facilitate the establishment of an
Environmental Forum. This research programme encompasses three specific
projects, i.e.,
- Environmental
Strategies, Policies and Laws and Environmental Regulations;
- Environmental
Educational/Awareness in Eastern and Southern Africa;
- Local/Indigenous
Knowledge in Resource Management.
The
Environmental Forum shall provide the opportunity to Chart:
- What
path African countries need to follow in order to come up with appropriate
environmental management plans;
- What
type of research should be carried out and what direction should be taken in
order to come up with appropriate enthronement management plans;
- The
establishment of networks between civil society based institutions and the
states;
- The
identification of means and ways for capacity building in order to achieve
sustainable environmental intervention;
- The
articulation of issues involved in governance and environment; and
- Ways
and means of regional environmental integration and cooperation.
