4. INTRODUCTIONS, COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS FROM THE FLOOR
Before the morning tea break the Chairperson of the session invited participants to introduce themselves, to make comments and to ask questions on what had been said so far.
Dr. Pangeti reminded participants that OSSREA is a credible publishing institution and that the organization was currently looking for manuscripts. She advised participants to use the Liaison Officer to channel manuscripts to OSSREA.
One participant informed the workshop that she was going to attend a short OSSREA methodology course in Addis Ababa. She further elaborated by saying that OSSREA has a capacity-building component and that every year a research methodology course is conducted with a view to upgrading the members' skills. This training also is an opportunity to meet colleagues. The participant informed the workshop that OSSREA has a website where current information and announcements can be accessed from.
A number of participants expressed regret about the absence of Dr. Simba Makoni. In response, another participant pointed out that work cannot come to a stand still due to the absence of the Minister. The solution was to ensure that the information that would emanate from the workshop would be passed on to the Minister and other agents of change, at all levels.
