Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA) is a regional membership-based and donor-supported research and capacity building network that was started in April 1980 by a group of pioneering social scientists in the region. Its headquarter is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is governed by the General Congress and has liaison officers in 21 countries of the Eastern and Southern Africa region. OSSREA operates major projects either independently or in collaboration with other institutions and produces a variety of scholarly publications ranging from its bi-annual journal to monographs, books and research reports. Through basic, action-oriented and policy research, OSSREA influences relevant institutions in generating knowledge for informed policy interventions critical to the improvements of the quality of life of the African people. OSSREA is a highly dedicated organization working to promote social science research, exchange knowledge, and provide wide-ranging support to researchers in Africa. Ethiopian Environment and Forest Research Institute (EEFRI) is an autonomous federal research institute established by Regulation No. 327/2014. EEFRI was part of the former Ministry of Environment, and nowadays is accountable to the Environment, Forest and Climate Change commission (EFCCC) and has seven research centers, distributed in different agroecological areas of the country. EEFRI will lead and carry out appraisal research of existing non-timber potential, gender equality and landscape managemenUgovernance, as well as promote resilient farming practices in the Yayu forest.https://www.eefri.org/

Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) is one of the oldest and largest agricultural research institutes in Africa, and was established to formulate national agricultural research guidelines and coordinate and undertake research in its centers and sub-centers located in various agroecological zones of Ethiopia, such as the Jimma Agricultural Research Center. JARC' s mandate is to coordinate integrated coffee research on soil fertility and crop production, and on watershed management, among other aspects of coffee landscapes.http://www.eiar.gov.et/jarc/

Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority (ECTA) is an institution formed under the mandate given by the Ethiopian Council of Ministers based on the declaration No.364/2015. It is an apex organization under the Ministry of Agriculture with the responsibility of maximizing production, establishing a quality-based marketing system and promoting Ethiopian coffee, tea and spice products worldwide. The Ethiopian government believes industrial development in this sector will mean a significant transformation in the livelihood of its people throughout the value chain and the nation's economy at large.https://ethiocta.gov.et/

Ethiopian Women's in Coffee Alliance (EWiCA) provides a forum to bring women together across the coffee value chain to better understand coffee quality and value through information exchange and networking. International Trade Centre (ITC), "She Trades" is a business platform that allows corporations to connect with women-owned supply companies. By working together, EWiC and ITC accelerate progress toward this shared economic empowerment goal. https://www.womenincoffee.org/

Latin American main stakeholders

TECNICAFE-Colombia is a Colombian "Technology Park" for social innovation and technologies for a sustainable coffee industry. Tecnicafe is also a Colombian knowledge management open-source platform for innovation in coffee farming (CoP).http://tecnicafe.co/

CONACAFE-Honduras has the mandate to formulate the country's coffee policies and advise on the coffee value chain. Conacafe contributes to the sustainable development of the coffee industry through capacity building and institutional coordination .https://conacafehn.com/

Asociaci6n de Mujeres Cafeteras del Cauca - AMUCC and other women-oriented organizations that have been part of AECID Colombia's supporting processes.

European Research Centers

Several European academic institutions have been in close contact with the methodology of this current proposal and will be engaged in different activities of the project, mainly the ones related with the Knowledge Management components

Master de Genero (Universidad Complutense Madrid) Specialized master's degree in holistic gender issues. They are currently collaborating with AECID on gender issues in several developing countries.

GEA (Grupo de Estudios Africanos, Universidad Aut6noma MAdrid). Specialized research group in agriculture and economies of African countries. SOAS (School of African Studies, London) One of the top ten world research institutions, specializing in African subjects, agro-economy and economy issues of Africa. They have been closely linked to some Ethiopian economic policies in the recent years and are renowned among the Ethiopian national research networks. https://www.soas.ac.uk/research/

IE SPGA (Instituto de Empresa, School of Global and Public Affairs). Spanish University with some research lines related to climate change and sustainability in African countries, mainly Ethiopia. Stockholm Resilience Center (Stockholm University). SRC is internationally recognized for its transdisciplinary research.
