8.1 Administration
The Executive Committee met two times, i.e., in September and August 2001. The Committee discussed various policy matters related to the different programs of the Organization. Among others, the Committee discussed the revised constitution of OSSREA to be endorsed by the Seventh Congress of OSSREA in 2001.
Following the approval of the Executive Committee, Dr. Alfred G. Nhema has been appointed as the first Deputy Executive Secretary of OSSREA. The post of the Deputy Executive Secretary was created because of the expansion in the scope of OSSREA's activities. Dr. Nhema was selected from among twenty-one candidates who had applied for the post.
Since 1st October 2001, OSSREA has also employed its own ICT specialist, namely, Ato Ayenew Asmare, who will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of OSSREA computers, programming, web design and technical aspect of online publishing. Ato Ayenew has a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Addis Ababa University.
